MISSION
Beth is dedicated to helping others have joy-filled lives. This mission is her calling and life's purpose. She states, " I am not a "Christian therapist" I am a therapist who is a Christian." For those seeking a deeper spiritual life, Beth offers Spiritual Direction Guidance. The spiritual direction is from Jungian, Mystical Christian traditions. Beth Explains that spiritual direction is a process where a woman becomes aware of God's presence and will for her life. Therapy is about wellness for the head, heart, body, soul and spirit. |
Personal History
Beth Barrineau Ward, LCSW graduated East Carolina University in 1982 and 1986. She received honors in her Masters in social work program. She has been a member of the National Association for Social Workers since 1982. She is certified in disaaster relief and critical debriefing. She has been an international volunteer providing services to victims of natural disasters. As a result of this training and experience, Beth is well qualified to assist people with the transitions of their lives, including, births job changes, separation, divorce, retirement, deaths, parenting issues. She is also a soothing therapist for the victims of trauma. Therapeutic Approach Beth offers both short and long term counseling. She sees some people two to three times while others choose to continue sessions for years. She believes that often people can get relief more quickley if the entire family participates in therapy. Although for many individuals, the family is the most important resource, some families are caught in repititious behavior patterns that do not work. a person may be born into the drama of a pathological family. But, that drama does not have to be the life that person chooses. Education and awareness can break the cycle! |
